He's referring to inductive charging, not intelligent bezel, if I am correct.
No, he specifically mentioned the gesture area of the tablet. The quote had nothing to do with inductive charging.

Can someone just post a damn changelog? Honestly... I don't want to have to reinstall DP2 over SL to find out if 2011 MBP GFX issues were fixed (screen savers, display blockiness, etc.).

No where on the sites does it mention 64-bit capabilities, unless i'm missing it. Can 64-bit be safely assumed?
Yeah thats what I was thinking.. this may make or break my decision to get a macbook pro over imac..

Good to see Apple catching up to the features Palm introduced two and a half years ago.
What features would those be, smart guy?

Steve already knew this was going to happen. They're ready.
I hope so, but I won't say it's a given.
Supposedly, Bill Gates and other Microsoft top brass were obsessed with the decline of the big great corporations (IBM being one of the best examples). Yet Microsoft has been (arguably) slowly heading in that direction as it tends to stumble in markets where they can't exercise their monopolisitc power (as in anything not OS or Office related).
And Apple's quite familiar with monumental success and decline from past experience. So we'll see. But for once, the roles are reversed.

Now that Apple have got an entire range of consumer machines ( laptops, desktops etc ) that can compete in terms of performance against their Window-PC counterparts, I'd expect nothing less - and expect the share to continue.
( Really - G4s had their day years ago ).
Good Stuff.

Like millions of other Mac owners, I don't play any games on my Mac and haven't for years. With iOS devices and consoles being so much cheaper, it just doesn't make any sense to me to pimp-up my Mac for gaming.
You aren't the only person Apple sells computers to either. To a lot of people being able to at least play some games on the go is a selling point that must be met for a travel device.

Perhaps there will be some type of targeted advertising to go along with the rumored free MobileMe? Devices will now be tied to that possibly?
Originally .Mac was MobileMe's domain.

Also, I'n not a big fan of using batteries in mice. Why not have a wireless mouse that is re-chargable? Or one that you can use wires with if the battery gets low?
I disagree with this. Why should every single device I need to recharge have a seperate wire to deal with, or even if it were some common wire, like the one used with the iPod, why should I have to keep track of all these things when I can just use rechargable batteries in everything and then charge them from a single charger? If I am at work and my BT mouse dies in the morning, should I have to hook a cord to my computer or the wall to charge it? Even if I can still use it as it charges, what was the point of getting the BT? With batteries, I just have two sets and can swap them out on the fly when needed while the others charge.
EDIT: BTW, I absolutely love my Mighty Mouse and was thinking just this morning how I would love to have one with BT. I am in need of another mouse as I have taken my wireless and Mighty Mouse to work and have a lonely iMac at home. SWEET!

I have a first gen iPad running 4.3.1, but although iTunes says a newer version is available, after it downloads it, extracts it, verifies my device and backs it up, it then says "this device isn't eligible for the requested build".
Does that mean the first gen iPad is now officially "legacy" and maxes out at 4.3.1? Or should I try a total restore/reset and update?

But if we agree that the development of a secure OS is all about utilizing sound design, coding and auditing processes, then we must also accept that the challenge will be very difficult for Apple to meet: You just cannot do that with Open Source...
Sure you can. What you can't do is grab stuff and assume that it does the right thing without checking it for yourself. That's equally true for software developed in house, or developed by subcontractors or commercial partners. It has little at all to do with public vs. private source code.

Yes, but there has been a massive fail rate in IBM Desktar Models (Hitatchi has bought the IBM hard drive division after). I know the problem won't appear again, and that the current Desktar only shares the name with the problematic one, but I prefer to stay away from Hitatchi drives. There are other brands, and they are priced similarly. I'm losing nothing here.
I've been using the same 500GB Hitachi Deskstar for about 3 years now. No qualms yet. Of course it's just for file storage. I put my OS and apps on my SSD.
An imminent upgrade is probably prudent though. :D 3 years is a bit long for any HDD really.

How in the world would $20 a YEAR be too much? You are talking about streaming music from a company that goes to great lengths NOT to sell your information to others. If you're too cheap for that, then use free Pandora and have your whole life story sold off to people for god knows what.

It would be nice, if the user could change the windows (UI) color in MacOS X like this can already be done in Windows / Linux.
So, that you could change the grey look to something else. They could integrate the color chooser, like you have, when you work with fonts etc.
After all, Mac is sold to consumers, so why not give them the choise of colors, at least in their programs, if their computers are cold/neutrla grey/silver/white colored?

Take the fight to them Sammy! Don't give in to the bully that Apple has become.
Even more entertaining is the fact that Apple is so arrogant they fail to realize how stupid they look.
Suing their biggest vendor.
It doesn't get any more stupid than that.
You're kidding, right? They'll play this game in court but Apple has a metric s--t ton of money just sitting in the bank. And when they want parts and approach Samsung for them, Samsung won't react like, "No way dude, you were mean." They'll see billions of dollars being offered their way and they'll take it, because this is business. There are other companies that supply these parts too, not just Samsung. Let me clarify that in no way am I saying everything Apple does is perfect and Samsung should feel privileged to do business with them, and as far as who copied who goes is not part of my argument (I love both Apple and Samsung), but please don't kid yourself if you think a lawsuit will stand in the way of making a crap ton of money.
Germany is a painful place to defend a patent suit.
How so? (not saying you're wrong, I'm genuinely curious)

As expected.
Yep. As an added bonus, LTE networks might actually be available in more than select locations sometime around launch. They're not missing much this year.
Not sure I understand, I've had 4G on my Evo for over a year now...
Hrm....
The "4G" on your Evo is WiMax, a completely different standard being pushed by Clearwire and supported by Sprint. It allowed Sprint to get a "4G" network up and running fairly quickly, but it's likely to be dead-ended with the proliferation of LTE and/or Clearwire blowing through its venture capital. Sprint's CEO has already said they'd be open to switching over to LTE in the future, which they really should do or end up being left behind in a similar way to their CDMA situation (except without Verizon to back them up).
