All visa stamping is now done outside US. As long as you dont travel outside of USA, you can stay legally till the date mentioned on your I-94 attached on I797. But, if your H1 extension is subjected to your visa interview in Islamabad, you have to go to interview.
I dont know what DWI is, but whatever it is, do not hide it on your visa application. AFAIK, traffic violations are not criminal offences, but I might be wrong.
You better have criminal record strighten out with DHS ASAP, one wrong info and it will become a huge problem.

all of them basically say "copy and paste this, ill tell you what it is later" and then not go indepth on all of the code.
i think ill look at that IMHO stuff :S

Call your lawyer and get your ETA number. The 45 day letter has your ETA number.
Tell him that you would like that number to track your case using the new BEC online case status search.
Normally he should give you that number, since it is nothing harmful for him and your company.

This is the hoax and seems like an attempt to discredit India Law system. Please close the thread. We should not be party to such attempts. You ask your Ex-coworker to draft a letter with detailed duties and responsibilities and print it on his current companies letterhead. You dont have to get it notarized. I did issue a similar letter for one of my friend, it was long long ago, don't have the format yet. btw, i did not notarized, I just printed, signed and mailed.

Today at Boeing interview event I got very good offer. The HR lady congratulated me, kept offer letter in my hand. Then I told her that I'm an EAD holder. All my fear came true, and she said a big sorry and said EAD is not acceptable at any cost. Also she said, she can keep the offer in hold for me for 5 months. How can I expect green card in hand in 5 months. GOD don't give this situation to any one. just trying to reduce my pain here...

The filter is an excellent suggestion, Gary - I prefer to do things in-camera. I did not take later shots, so I can't sandwich them. The reds were extremely short lived, and clouds were moving in (and it was freezing), but I'll remember to get a couple of different exposures for next time.

I always thought that i would never have this problem, i spent time worry about PD being current, medicals, certificates and the rest, i have a normal name/country etc, no history, no parking tickets etc. Most of the people are just like me, they never think they will face this issue, and end up getting stuck. As the report mentions there is a lack of funding and resources.
BTW mallu, if they are watching you, just go and talk to them...tell them to clear your file, it will save them some time and ease our pain too :D

I also think this is a good idea, 10 days will not make much difference. Please help other members people.... Who knows, if there are too many applications USCIS might decide to not move dates in the July Visa Bulletin.

Please note I joined his company along with the current the project, only for faster GC as he promised. But when I came back from India, It took a month for me to find a project. He didn't do marketing and then I realized the mistake of joining him (I assume he must have been consulting somewhere and just enjoying with my free $$$). And while I was looking for the project he threatened to cancel my H1 if I don't find a project soon. Now I'm not sure of you stay with someone who is ready to cancel your H1 in your bad times?

We cannot keep 2 Social Security cards at the same time.
They took my card and put into a drawer containing old returned card.
I have seen an american women infront of me apply for a new card after her name change(after marrige). They took her old card and put into the drawer.
You can apply for a new card without the old card if you inform the card is lost.
You can replace your Social Security card if it is lost or stolen. You are limited to three replacement cards in a year and 10 during your lifetime.
Name change, taking out the restrictions will not count towards the replacement limit.

How long can one stay out of Canada once landed as a permanent resident? Is it 2 years or 3 years???
I did my landing in July 06 and have received canadian PR but then moved back to US since then and have not visited Canada since.
Can somebody please provide some input on this? Friend of mine told me that i have to move before July, 08 in order to maintain canadian PR status. Is it true?

am staying in US for d past 4 yrs ,have a H1 B visa. i want to invite my younger brother and mom for a ONE month visit to US.My mom has already got 10 yrs of visa as she visited dis place in 2008. My brother has just completed his engineering , is 21 yrs of age and has got placed in infosys.His joining date is in December, so would it be easy for him to get d visitors visa as even i want him to have some fun b4 starting off with his work life. Should he carry his offer letter with him and also would it b wise to book d ticket in advance and show them d return ticket as a proof just to tell them tat he will b back in a month and also would like to know the other questions which r expected.
